Beach, Please!

2023

Having someone who will listen as you share your joys, sorrows, and everything in between is extremely important. For many, their significant other plays that role. For me, it is my sisters and my sister friends. They are the ones who help me continue being me. Travel is a large part of my life, always has been. However, after tragedy struck, I found myself alone with no one to embark with me on my journeys. This is when I realized who my true sister friends were. I am lucky to have people in my life to not only share my travel journeys with, but also to share my life with. My closest friends are the ones who I can call when I need to talk, cry, laugh, or share some exciting news, they are now also there to experience new places with me.

Fingerprints of a Nation

2024

Did you know? This question was posed to me on a recent trip to the NIA Cultural Center. Did you know that the brick walls of this building have the fingerprints of some of our ancestors? I did not know. But I was touched that day looking at the wall, touching the bricks. Feeling enlightened and empowered I was inspired to tell this story to others who also did not know.
